Lenovo Yoga 920 2024 – Full Review & Specs

Packed inside an intimidating design and backed by stellar performance, Lenovo Yoga 920 is the best 2-in-1 laptop.

Thanks to the powerful combination of beautiful design and strong performance that helped Lenovo in making its own brand name in the market.

Lenovo Yoga 920

Lenovo Yoga 920

With Yoga 920, Lenovo comes up with sleeker touch screen laptop design packed inside a gorgeous aluminum chassis. The power of this 2-in-1 mini laptop is unbeatable.

This convertible laptop does not compromise on performance. It provides the smoothest computing experience. The performance is backed up by Core i7 so you are going to have a memorable time with Lenovo Yoga 920.

The Design

Those who have used Yoga 910 won’t find any distinguish design variation in Yoga 920. Albeit with several improvements, the design does not affect the overall aesthetic of this hybrid laptop.

It looks slimmer and stylish with glossy metallic finish that gives it a premium feel. Never mind to keep a small handkerchief to remove smudges from the metal. The hinges at the back look extremely appealing and perform lots of actions in screen orientation.

With the help of six interlocking sliver pieces at the hinges, you can rotate the screen as much as you want.

Other than using it as a standard laptop or tablet, you can also use it in tent mode. In this mode, you can use keyboard as a stand to watch movies. You can flip your screen at an extreme angle of 180 degrees.

It weighs around 1.37 kg, feeling lighter on your shoulders when packed inside a handbag. The razor-thin 5 mm bezel around the screen is an absolute favorite. The laptop’s bronze color is even more attractive. It gives a shiny metallic shimmer to the keys. The size of the keys is also improved.

Lenovo Yoga 920

The track pad works very smooth. The thin design of Yoga 920 does not support multiple connectivity ports.

There is no slot for SD card which is a sheer disappointment. You will only find 3.5mm headphone jack, two USB-C thunderbolt ports on the left side and a USB 3.0 port on right side.

The Display

Get your entertainment hours a stunning touch of wide angle 4K display. The 13.9 inch display comes in two resolutions i.e. 1920 x 1080 and 3840 x 2160.

The sharper and brighter images make Yoga 920 a top-notch pick. The full HD touch screen is very good for web browsing, watching movies or Netflix binging.

The display does not provide full color gamut coverage which makes Yoga 920 a slight disappointment for serious creative and art work.

For quick login, you can use fingerprint scanner instead of Windows Hello since Yoga 920 does not provide face recognition. Thankfully, the camera is located at the center above the screen.

The camera produces crisp and clear images and works perfectly for video chatting. The two JBL speakers provide great sound quality. The speakers are placed at the bottom which may cause a cheeky audio sound.

Performance & Battery life

It is built over 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. You can always upgrade it to 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD.You will be enjoying powerful processing for day to day tasks. It is not a perfect fit for graphic-intensive apps as it lacks dedicated GPU. This makes it not-so-recommended laptop for gamers or graphic designers.

Do not forget the improved battery life that has won our hearts already. The battery lasts a good 12 hours on our video testing at a full charge. The 4K screen mode drains out the battery fast so keep it in mind.

With exceptional battery life, many professionals would love it for a day long work. The fans do not make enough noise but under demanding tasks, they could be noisy.

The Stylus

Yoga 920 comes with Lenovo’s Active Pen 2 stylus. Y ou do not need to spend extra amount to purchase stylus.

A stylish stylus comes with Lenovo Yoga 920 and works smoothly on the screen. You can create notes on the screen through pressure-sensitive stylus without worrying about the screen movements.

What we dislike is the awkward placement of stylus holder. It is placed on the side of the laptop that blocks up the power button and creates annoyance.

It would be better to include a magnetic solution to this awkwardness.

Verdict:

With the lack of a dedicated GPU, many videographers do not get the maximum out of this hybrid laptop. The keyboard feels shallow but it’s almost fine.

The price of a standard Lenovo Yoga 920 starts at $1350. Though it is a little expensive but its power to perform complex tasks is unparalleled.

It provides a powerful and memorable computing experience for everyday usage. With many improvements, it has managed to grab attention in the market.

If the price of this laptop is way above the budget, Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook is an amazing choice

Many upgrades are still to be made but for now Lenovo Yoga 920 is a capable laptop which can be occasionally used as a tablet.

Lenovo ThinkPad P1 2024 – Specs, Review & Price

Lenovo ThinkPad P1

Not every laptop brand cops up with the requirements of seriously high-computing tasks. Lenovo has taken another step towards introducing the extreme power for extreme level computing tasks.

Lenovo ThinkPad P1

Lenovo ThinkPad P1

With Lenovo ThinkPad P1, the world of processing gets better and unbelievable. The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 is perhaps the most potent mobile workstation we have tested thus far from the company.

Compared to some other mobile workstations in the same arena, the ThinkPad P1 has a lot to offer and has a price that remains competitive.

If you need a portable device that is extremely thin and works as windows-based mobile workstation, ThinkPad P1 is surely a tough candidate.

The Design

Appealing a large number of customers, the design of Lenovo ThinkPad P1 is ecstatic. ThinkPad P1 flaunts an understated soft-touch, matte-black finish on the lid that generates a stealthy appearance.

We may probably call it the sleekest and thinnest workstation that sufficiently meets the needs of powerful computing.

The classic black soft-touch lid provides a smooth touch but it could get smudges easily. The chassis is quite sturdy and made up of magnesium and carbon fiber.

If you have already used ThinkPad X1 Extreme or ThinkPad X1 Carbon, you won’t feel any difference in the design of P1. The manufacturers have tried to integrate the powerful features into a 15.6-inch screen.

Lenovo ThinkPad P1

There is sufficient number of ports including two Thunderbolt 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, a mini Ethernet port (Thank God!), an audio jack, Lenovo’s proprietary AC adapter connector, a cable-lockdown security notch, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, an SD card slot and a SmartCard slot.

The Keyboard

Lenovo is also known for the convenient keyboards that it keeps on introducing. P1 has fulfilled that standard through introducing the backlit keyboard that provides pleasuring experience to type on.

Moreover, the system has both fingerprint reader and face-recognition webcam to make computing securer. Also don’t forget the classical ThinkPad pointing stick that is positioned in the center of the keyboard.

The Display

While we are impressed by the exceptional design of P1, we are a little disappointed by its dimmer display. The 4K display isn’t very bright, but its exceptional detail and vibrant colors make up for that drawback.

On our color test, P1 scores 179% of sRGB color gamut. As mentioned earlier, P1’s display is not brighter, serving only 285 nits of brightness. The display itself is superb, even in its FHD incarnation without touch support.

The rich screen of P1 provides well-saturated colors with a glossy screen. P1 screen also supports Dolby Vision HDR. The displayed images stood out well with both moving and static content.

Battery Life

One thing, we wish, could be upgraded earlier in P1 is its battery timing. You shouldn’t expect a 4K workstation to last all day on a charge; in fact, battery life is a pain point on the ThinkPad P1.

At 4 hours and 16 minutes, the power of this workstation gets drained earlier than its competitive laptops. The battery gets depleted earlier, not satisfying Lenovo’s claim of providing up to 13 hours of battery life.

Performance

P1 comes up with a slim body but packs one heck of a punch. Boasting ThinkPad’s signature black finish and encased in carbon fiber and magnesium alloy, the P1 has the style to match the power inside.

And at a mere 18.4 mm thin, this portable laptop looks nothing less than an ultra-premium device. The 2.7GHz Xeon E-2176M processor provides plenty of power, to carry out the most complex tasks.

Our verdict:

The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 is both powerful and extremely portable. It does lack some of the more advanced options such an integrated privacy screen and low battery life, but few compromises are need to be made in order to get power of a workstation in hands.

The ThinkPad P1 is lighter and slightly thinner than many of its competitors, which can make a real difference if you’re carrying it with you all day.

ThinkPad P1 is a sleek and powerful portable laptop that offers excellent processing and powerful features packed inside a stylish chassis. Playing games on this ThinkPad is possible, but getting suitable machine from list of the best Lenovo gaming laptops is preferable. We recommend it to serious Lenovo fans or to those who want to invest in a great workstation machine.

Lenovo Yoga 730 – 2024 Professional Review & Specs

Lenovo Yoga 730

When it comes to picking up a laptop that is fully-featured, packed inside a stylish chassis and does not break the bank, Lenovo Yoga 730 is the perfect fit.

If you have already been a user of Lenovo Yoga 720, you may found similarities between the both. Yoga 730 is slimmer, thinner and more powerful than its predecessors. It is a better choice for those who want to use a single device as a laptop mostly, and occasionally as a tablet.

For those who want to enjoy staggering computing features at pocket-friendly price, Yoga 730 is that candidate who never disappoints.

Lenovo Yoga 730

Lenovo Yoga 730

The Design

We are extremely impressed by the build quality of Yoga 730. Packed in a solid aluminum chassis, it is a powerful computing kit. The screen is slimmer and the edges are rounded more, especially at the back.

We found it heavier when packed inside the bag. Despite the weight, this convertible laptop is compact and thin with minimalist look and a simple ‘Yoga’ logo engraved at the corner. With that, you can easily compromise on its weight. Being small, it fits easily on lap while travelling.

Don’t forget the hinges which are tight enough to hold the screen in various laptop orientations. It is the flexible hinge that makes the 360-degrees flip and flop design possible. Use Yoga 730 as a standard laptop, tablet, tent or as a stand. You won’t be disappointed by the screen performance in any of the mode. The 13.3-inch full-resolution touch screen is surrounded by very thin bezels which make your screen look even more stylish.

The Ergonomics

Yoga 730 provides a sensational typing experience, thanks to the sturdy keys which never make your fingers feel tired. The backlit keys are responsive, accurate and a tad stiff. The keyboard will allow you to float around the buttons, quickly and quietly hammering out documents.

Lenovo Yoga 730

The trackpad is pretty decent. It is broad, smooth and responsive, showing no signs of friction. The mounted buttons are a little spongy, but you’ll soon get used to them. Although the silky trackpad is quite productive, but don’t expect it to perform equally well for gaming.

The Display

With the 13-inch FHD wide-angle display and razor-thin bezel edging around the screen, you get to enjoy wide viewing angles and entertainment experience like never before. Due to the glossy finish on IPS touch panel, the screen easily gets fingers’ smudges. We found display a little dimmer even at its full brightness level.

Above the display, you find a 720p webcam at the center position. The camera quality is fine enough to make clear video calls. The images may look a little grainy, but the video quality is satisfactory.

Overall, the Yoga 730’s screen is pretty decent. It is good enough for less-intensive photo work and artistic tasks. But, if you are looking for a screen that produces more precise and demanding creative work, you may look somewhere else.

Audio and Battery Life

Featuring the powerfully immersive sound of a Dolby Atmos Speaker System, the Yoga 730 offers a home-theatre experience. The device’s speakers are excellent. They are well-balanced, with ample bass and plenty of clarity.

What we dislike about Yoga 730 is its low battery life. Though the battery life of 10 hours gets you through more than an entire day of usage, but this is not the case when running graphics-heavy applications.

Performance

Powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U mobile processor, 8GB system memory for advanced multitasking, high-bandwidth RAM to smoothly run your games, 256GB SSD and photo- and video-editing applications, Lenovo Yoga 730 is a crowd-pleaser for those who have a taste for Windows tablets.

You can handle some gaming on Yoga 730 as well but this is certainly not friendly to graphics-intensive apps. Comparing it to Dell, we found it a little slower, but it still has the power to handle multi-tasking and most work tools.

Our verdict:

Few compromises are needed to be made if you want to enjoy a feature-packed computing experience at an affordable rate. You won’t find Yoga 730 a perfect Compaq laptop due to its dimmer display and low battery timing. But its power to handle multiple tasks is unbeatable. If you, however, are looking for more budget options, Lenovo ThinkPad X is an amazing pick. You can mitigate the short battery life by taking FHD rather than UHD screen option.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2024 – Review & Buying Guide

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Review

In Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Lenovo presented their sixth generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon, weighing around 1.13 kg. We may call it our favorite 14-inch business laptop due to its business friendly features that this lineup is known for. With ThinkPad X1 Carbon, Lenovo offers refinement rather than revolution.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon

ThinkPad X1 Carbon

The Design

The design quality of ThinkPad X1 Carbon impresses us the most. We are really influenced by the slim dimensions of the 6th-gen ThinkPad X1 Carbon.

The soft-touch lid gives a smooth look to the deck and provides a joy to your wrists and fingers. The dark black cover and sleek body with signature ThinkPad red accents amp up the overall look of this portable laptop. Don’t forget to keep a small handkerchief to remove the smudges from the matte black lid.

Talking about the build quality, X1 Carbon is made up with a mixture of carbon fibre, glass fibre, plastic and magnesium alloy that gives it a soft finish. There is a classy new red and gray X1 logo on the lower left corner of the lid. Speaking of the keyboard, it surely is, of world-class category. The keys offer excellent tactile feedback and provide an enjoyable typing experience.

A red Track-point also sits between the keys and provide excellent navigation. It’s definitely going to appeal ThinkPad’s die-hard traditionalist fans. The button less TouchPad is extremely accurate and responds smoothly to multi-touch gestures.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6 gen

Display

With the display, you can either choose a full HD and Quad HD resolutions or a non-touch IPS panel running at a screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The X1 Carbon’s base model screen is 1080p with a healthy 300 nits of brightness and good color reproduction.

The sRGB color gamut has peaked up to 99% with wide viewing angles and high contrast ratio. We are not satisfied by the color accuracy which can create trouble to edit photos or videos as the colors appear differently.

The in-cell touch technology in the IPS touch-screen panel is beyond perfection. It makes the display more power-efficient. The screen does not require any glossy cover glass.

To keep the old peripherals happy, ThinkPad X1 Carbon comes up with two USB 3.0 ports and a full-size HDMI connector. But unluckily, there is no Ethernet port available.

Audio and Battery Life

If you plan to listen to music on the X1 Carbon, plug in some headphones. The speakers are loud enough to get noticed, but the instruments are distorted that it affects the overall performance of speakers. By default, the Dolby audio software automatically adjusts itself based on what app you’re using, but you can also manually select a sound profile for voice, music or gaming.

Speaking of the battery life, the 1080p version lasted a good 11 hours after a daylong work. You’ll probably be able to squeeze a full day’s work out of a single charge, provided you don’t push things too hard. X1 Carbon also supports fast charging. It can go from 0 to 80 percent in one hour which is extremely helpful and best for travelling purpose.

Performance

Powered by a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, it is our favorite business laptop. The impressive features packed inside a stylish chassis really create a memorable computing experience.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon remains the ultimate business ultrabook, thanks to its gorgeous design, awesome typing experience, long battery life and epic screen. Some of the laptops like Lenovo ThinkPad Extreme X1 was inspired by this laptop. Being on a pricier side, it may make you think once before making a purchase but it worth the amount.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon offers premium features in a slim and attractive package that business users will love—just be prepared to open your wallet wide for this top-notch ultra-portable laptop.

The newest Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook have elevated the concept of using basic systems to being powerful devices with exceptional performance.

Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook

Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook

Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook is best 2-in-1 portable laptop for its sleek design that allows maximum flexibility to the users and convertible as tablet with touchscreen display.

It is tough, durable and inexpensive device that Lenovo has manufactured to provide you an unforgettable computing experience and most important is faster charging.

The Design

Lenovo has tried to create a functional design of Flex 11 Chromebook. The gray plastic lid is surrounded by gray rubber bumper with its logo written at the bottom-right corner.

The solid hinges can flip up to 360-degrees which make it easy to use Flex 11 in tablet mode or tent mode.

You can choose the mode when it’s time to get things done. It provides wide viewing angles for watching videos or browsing web without affecting the design.

What we dislike about Flex 11 is its size. Weighing around 3 pounds, Flex 11 Chromebook is a heavier device which can make you feel tired while using it. Albeit the size, its durable design tops up the deal.

Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook review

The manufacturers claim that it can survive a 2.4-foot drop which is almost equal to the height of a small schoolchild. This makes sure that your Chromebook remains safe if your kid wants to hold the device in one hand.

The screen is water and dust resistant as well so no smudges can leave a permanent mark behind. It can bear up to 330 ml of liquid without damaging its interface.

Talking about the keyboard, we are disappointed by the shallow keys which require force to press. Moreover, the slippery plastic over the keys makes the keyboard not-so-good in typing sessions. This chubby Chromebook has a sealed touchpad that supports Chrome’s limited gestures which is a plus sign. The multi-finger gestures work flawlessly and produce instant response. Although it is pretty stiff but that won’t trouble your web browsing hours.

The Display

The 11.6-inch display offers an HD IPS touch screen panel with a screen resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels. Offering about 230 nits, we didn’t find the brightness level up to the mark. You can’t ignore the bright white backgrounds which appear a little washed out when compared to the brighter displays.

The good thing about the display is that it covers a wide range of color gamut so a compromise can be made over its brightness. The anti-glare technology reduces the eye strain and provides you an eye-friendly screen experience. Moreover, the 720p webcam produces accurate images and videos under bright light. Enjoying video calls or capturing images is a breeze with Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook. With a wide-ranging array of ports, connecting external devices is not a big deal. It has a USB Type C port, HDMI, USB 3.0, an audio jack and an SD card slot to serve a variety of purposes.

Battery life

If you are looking for an affordable laptop for your basic needs, you may consider purchasing Flex 11 but with a few shortcomings.

One of the flaws which we face in Flex 11 is its short battery timing. It works for about 8 hours which is not enough for long working or videoconferencing sessions.

That is also less than its competitor devices. We are not satisfied by the cooling system since the laptop gets warm sooner and produces discomfort.

Performance

With its 2-in-1 performance, Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook competes well with its rivals. Built over lightweight Chrome OS and powered by MediaTek processor, Flex 11 is configured to access thousands of games or programs from Google Play Store. The 3.5mm audio jack provides better sound to the users in headphones mode.

Lenovo Flex 11 runs on a 2.1 GHz processor and offers a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage which is enough for basic multitasking programs. It is also running Android Apps like a champ without disturbing its interface. However if you wonder can you play games on this laptop, we recommend some Lenovo laptops for gaming.

If you are looking to invest in a laptop without worrying about the bumps and bruises, Flex 11 could be an affordable choice.

Lenovo IdeaPad 720S – 2024 Full Review & Price

Lenovo IdeaPad 720S Review

Portable laptops have made the business computing easier like never before. A laptop is your main source to connect to the online world so it needs to be powerful, super-fast and of course, affordable.

In this technology world where processing power of laptops has increased manifold, Lenovo has set spectacular business standards. It has introduced some really amazing budget-friendly laptops which stand out due to their design and reliability.

Lenovo IdeaPad 720s

Lenovo Ideapad 720S

Talking about Lenovo IdeaPad 720s, it is not ‘just another’ traditional laptop, but a compact and luxurious computing device that makes everyone fall for it. Lenovo caters pretty much every computing need in today’s world.

To cover a wide range of specifications, Lenovo IdeaPad 720s comes up with plenty of power. It’s a great machine with high efficiency and perfect graphics.

Offered in several screen sizes and configurations, Lenovo IdeaPad 720s suits the needs of every single user.

If you are looking for a Compaq laptop that does wonder to your computing hours without breaking the bank, here is your stop. We have tested a 13-inch version of 720s to pen down this review.

Design & Display

A powerful laptop does not need to be heavy in size. Lenovo IdeaPad is not only powerful but a lightweight laptop that has a stylish design. Weighing around 2.2 pounds, it is one of the lightest 13-inch laptops currently available in the market.

Talking about the slim bezels at the borders around the screen, they give 720s a razor-thin look which makes it better to its competitors like The MacBook. The keyboard is another factor to appreciate the manufacturers of Lenovo IdeaPad 720s.

The keys produce very sensational stroke vibes which are extremely helpful for short typing sessions. The touchpad is larger in size but comparing it to any glass touch pads could break the deal since it feels flimsy. Also the improper placement of power button looks odd.

There is no option of touch screen available on the 13-inch version (if you looking for touch screen laptop then check this Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook) so, you won’t be finding any alternative input method. To add up the bonus points, Lenovo IdeaPad 720s comes up with a fingerprint scanner which has amazing fingerprint recognition.

Talking about the display, it’s a matte HD panel with a screen resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 with wide viewing angles. It comes up with various levels of brightness to use it during the darkness.

The display hinge tends to rotate at angle of 180 degrees which makes it flexible to use anywhere. The speakers at the bottom of 720s’ chassis produce grainy noise which may disturb your movie’s hours. The noisy fan cooling system really works under stress and does not let the laptop get warm.

Camera, Storage & Battery life

Let us make it clear to you that you are not going to get additional storage with 720s. The already available 256GB SSD is surely not enough to keep up with the modern gaming needs. The power and capabilities of 720s is beyond excellence but the sound system can make you question over it.

Moreover, to support Thunderbolt 3, there is a USB-C port available that helps you connect to the external displays.

As far as battery life is concerned, we found it pretty satisfying as compared to any other typical gaming laptop. It has a well-placed built-in HD webcam with 1MP sensor that more often produces grainy videos and blur images.

Final verdict:

Lenovo IdeaPad 720s

Lenovo IdeaPad 720s is an absolutely brilliant computing machine that is, by no means, any less to its competitors. Manufactured over Kaby Lake Core i5 processor, it is powerful and feels compatible in hands.

It provides an exceptional and smooth web browsing experience. With gray aluminum finish, it looks classy in hands. It is closely resembled to DELL XPS 13 but you will find Lenovo IdeaPad 720s a solid alternative in terms of speed and performance.

We recommend it to those who are seeking for a gaming laptop that works equally well in computing hours. This thin and slick device is highly-engineered and packs sterling features in a small slim line aluminum case.
